Founded in Diyarbakır on 1 September 2021 by a group of activists, academics, and artists with a background in rights-based work and civil society, the Association for Cultural Research for Peace (bakad) aims to deepen democracy and achieve social peace on the basis of the principles of participation and inclusiveness.
Focusing specifically on Diyarbakır, our association aims to spread a culture of peace in Turkey through scientific and artistic production-focused activities aimed at understanding the structural and cultural background of social inequalities based on race, gender, sexual orientation/gender identity, religion/belief, age, and economic status.
