Founded in 1996, DKVD is known for its work protecting Diyarbakır’s tangible and intangible cultural and natural heritage, documenting collective memory, and carrying out training and social activities to raise awareness on these issues.
Culture and nature are fundamental elements for the continuation of life: while culture sustains us spiritually, nature is the main element of our physical existence. Regarding the protection of cultural and natural heritage as a rights-based approach and carrying out its work accordingly, DKVD is open to collaboration or experience-sharing on the protection and development of cultural heritage and on archiving.
