Founded on 8 March 2010 in Diyarbakır, DİSA aims to publish research and bring it to the attention of relevant stakeholders, and to contribute to knowledge-sharing through conferences, symposiums, panels, workshops, and reports, with the goal of increasing egalitarian social awareness and developing dialogue that enables differences to coexist peacefully.
DİSA also aims to serve as a hub for researchers, contributing first-hand, objective, field-based knowledge to the shaping of future policies through research that paves the way for society’s social and political development. The right to mother tongue, justice and peace, sustainable living and the right to space, and gender equality are areas of particular interest to DİSA, in which it seeks to produce knowledge. To date, DİSA has published numerous reports in these areas in Turkish, Kurdish, and English.
