Gola Culture, Art and Ecology Association was founded in Istanbul in 2006, with a focus on keeping the Laz language alive, and for 10 years organised the Green Highland Culture, Art and Environment Festival in its area of work, the Eastern Black Sea region, across various thematic areas. Having moved its headquarters to Rize as of 2021, Gola continues its work in the Eastern Black Sea region to spread knowledge from the local to the national and global level, particularly in the areas of language rights and environmental rights.
