The association’s best-known core area of work is carrying out effective advocacy activities aimed at preventing and/or eliminating human rights violations occurring in social life. As part of its advocacy work, it aims to raise public awareness and sensitivity around human rights violations through various campaigns and events. Providing legal counselling and support, where needed, to victims who have suffered rights violations is also among the association’s core activities.

The association’s Head Office was founded in 1986, and its Diyarbakır Branch began its activities in March 1988. Aside from short-term closure orders issued against it due to state-of-emergency measures, it has continued its activities uninterrupted to this day.

Citizens who have suffered any form of human rights violation in social life may apply for support.
