MOKİD’s Vision: To create a world/society in which all forms of violence and discrimination against women have ended, and in which justice, equality, and freedom are established for everyone.

MOKİD’s Mission: To combat all forms of violence rooted in gender inequality through a rights-based perspective; and, in this context, to carry out advocacy, campaigning, research, training, and lobbying work aimed at empowering women and girls and ensuring they have access to equal opportunities.

MOKİD was founded in 2007 as a non-profit association. Since its founding, as part of its work to empower women, it has delivered awareness training to women, men, and young people on gender equality and violence against women. MOKİD carries out its work combating all forms of violence through a rights-based perspective, and, in this context, engages in advocacy, campaigning, research, training, and lobbying activities aimed at empowering women and girls and ensuring their access to equal opportunities.

Social, psychological, and legal counselling, literacy courses, vocational skills courses, and social cohesion activities are provided for women who have experienced violence. MOKİD provides its social and psychological counselling services in Arabic and Turkish, and its legal counselling services in Arabic, Kurdish, and Turkish. By offering services in the languages needed by the local population, MOKİD enables women who speak different languages to receive services in their mother tongue, making it easier for them to access the services of public institutions/organisations and to learn about their rights.

In addition, since 2015, MOKİD has been contributing, at the local level, to work aimed at refugee women in partnership with international humanitarian aid organisations. Because MOKİD provides services in the languages refugees need, refugee women and children are able to express themselves comfortably in their mother tongue and find solutions to their problems.
