GAR-Migration Research Association was founded in Istanbul in 2017 by academics working in the field of migration. Since then, it has carried out activities aimed at producing critical knowledge, supporting migration research and researchers, making visible the rights violations experienced by migrants and refugees through rights-based knowledge production, and contributing to evidence-based policymaking.
Its main activities in recent years include:
- research projects
- seminars, workshops, and conferences
- GAR Academy online training programmes
- videos, podcasts, and analysis articles on migration, and
- public statements against attacks and hate speech directed at migrants.
