Solidarity’s State of Women Association (DAKAHDER) was founded in Diyarbakır in 2018 by a group of young women. Currently with a single branch, the association is expanding its work into other cities in the region as needed. It stands in solidarity with people who have been subjected to discrimination on the basis of gender or gender identity; it does not provide counselling services but plays a referral role. It carries out advocacy and activism activities to achieve gender equality.
It runs an internship programme every year to empower young women in civil society. It disseminates free gender training to CSOs, professional associations, trade unions, and private institutions in the cities of Batman, Bingöl, Dersim, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Mardin, and Urfa.
