Since 2010, Sulukule Volunteers Association has worked in the Karagümrük district of Istanbul with at-risk, disadvantaged, discriminated-against, and financially struggling groups, using rights-based activities to improve these groups’ quality of life in their daily lives and to increase their participation in society.
Through rights-based workshops, SGD aims to strengthen children socially and psychologically, to create child-friendly spaces through participatory methods that support creativity, to develop holistic models to prevent school dropout, to disseminate these models, and to reduce the school dropout rate.
