About the Program

Haklara Destek Program aims to contribute to the advancement of human rights and participatory democracy by supporting small scale and grassroots human rights organisations. This program operates as a sub-granting mechanism financed by the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey and managed by Hafıza Merkezi and Heinrich Böll Stiftung.

With Haklara Destek II, which took place between January 1, 2024 and February 2025, an institutional grant and capacity building program was provided for 41 rights-based organizations during the two year-long implementation period. Within the scope of the program, tailor-made workshops, webinars, expert support and experience sharing meetings were organized for organizations working one-on-one with field officers. Additionally, network meetings were organized in five different themes for two years.

With Haklara Destek I, which took place between July 2020 and June 2021, 48 organisations working with a rights-based approach went through a capacity building program involving institutional grants and simultaneous mentoring, one-to-one expert support, and workshops in priority areas. After the program, the report titled The Shrinking Democratic Space and the COVID-19 Pandemic in Turkey from the Perspective of 48 Rights-Based CSOs was published.

In the coming period, we will share the news and updates regarding the continuation of the program on our website and social media accounts.
