Katre Women’s Counceling and Solidarity Association was founded in Erzincan in 2019. It works with women, children and LGBTI+s and carries out workshops and fieldwork adopting gender equality and feminist perspective. Katre provides legal, social, and psychological support to women, children, and LGBTI+ people who experience violence. While working with the target group who have been subjected to violence, Katre supports them with a feminist perspective, in line with the principle that “victim’s statement is essential”, and, in doing so, it builds solidarity with them without forming hierarchies, taking on a savior role, or judging them.
