Sulukule Gönüllüleri Derneği

Sulukule Volunteers Association (SGD)

Founded in 2010, Sulukule Gönüllüleri Derneği works with at-risk, disadvantaged, discriminated, and financially challenged groups in the Karagümrük region of Istanbul. With its rights-based activities, the association improves the quality of life of the abovementioned groups in their daily lives and increases their social participation. 

SGD aims to empower children socially and psychologically through right-based workshops, to create child-friendly spaces with participatory methods that promote creativity, to develop models with a holist approach to prevent school dropout and disseminate them, and to reduce the dropout rate.
