Clean Clothes Campaign Turkey advocates against rights violations and, drawing on the power of consumers, creates solutions for all textile workers to work in fair, healthy and safe conditions.
Clean Clothes Campaign Turkey
- formulates an advocacy strategy in case of any violation of rights that textile workers are subjected to; uses various tools such as campaigns and lobbying, field research, street protests, petitions and signature campaigns,
- creates dialog between workers and employers in order for workers to access their rights,
- informs consumers and calls them to action to build consumer pressure, when employers insist on violating workers’ rights,
- cooperates with international networks to advocate locally against global rights violations. In case of local rights violations, it mobilizes international stakeholders and takes local struggles to the global level,
- follows and shares news on the subject on the website www.meslekhastaligi.org, which was established to promote a healthy and safe working life and increase awareness of the concept of occupational disease. It tries to create public opinion by interviews done with workers.
The association was founded in 2017 in Istanbul. It is open to communication with other civil society organizations for cooperation on the issues of business and human rights, living wage, freedom of association, child labor, environment and climate justice, informal employment, and gender equality, and to share experiences on campaigning, lobbying, international networks.
In addition, people who suffer from occupational diseases or who want to consult on this issue, or people who are textile workers and cannot receive their wages or compensation at work, or who work in poor conditions can apply to the association for support.
