We held the 11th experience sharing meeting where Haklara Destek organizations shared
“best practices” from their own work on September 9 at 3 PM. During the meeting, Youth
Re-autonomy Foundation of Turkey, Migration and Humanitarian Aid Foundation and
Sulukule Volunteers Association shared their experiences on monitoring activities in the
field of child rights.
Youth Re-autonomy Foundation of Turkey (Türkiye Çocuklara Yeniden Özgürlük Vakfı)
Since 1997, the Foundation has been implementing the Youth Center Program (GEM),
designed to prevent at-risk children aged 12-18 from becoming involved in crime and to
support their active participation in society. The Foundation detailed the indicators used in
monitoring GEM, along with their evaluation and reporting processes.
Migration and Humanitarian Aid Foundation (Göç ve İnsani Yardım Vakfı, GİYAV)
The Migration and Humanitarian Aid Foundation provided insights into the preparation
process, data collection methods, analysis, indicators used, target audience, and
evaluation approach for the Internet Media Child Rights Violations Monitoring Report,
which they have been publishing regularly since 2012 as part of their advocacy efforts.
Sulukule Volunteers Association (Sulukule Gönüllüleri Derneği)
Since 2017, the association has been tracking changes through monitoring activities.
Alongside conducting sports and art-based workshops for children, they also organize
empowering activities for caregivers and teachers. During the meeting, the association
shared their experiences, highlighting the challenges faced in monitoring activities,
particularly with children, and the solutions and approaches they have developed over time
to address these difficulties.
