Komeleya Lêkolînên Kurdî – Kurdish Research Association

Kurdish Research Association (Komeleya Lêkolînên Kurdî) was established in Istanbul in 2017 after the Istanbul Kurdish Institute, which was established on April 18, 1992, was shut down with a decree law. It works in the field of Kurdish language education, preparation of education materials, publishing and promoting academic publications, and mother tongue education and language rights. The association organizes workshops for learning and development of mother tongue by focusing on democratic and pluralistic values in studies on language rights and mother tongue rights; publishes academic works in the fields of history, literature, language, and culture; monitors and reports violations of rights in the use and teaching of mother tongue; strives for the elimination of these rights violations; organizes panels, seminars, and workshops on language rights, mother tongue education, and related issues.
