Sosyal Politika Cinsiyet Kimliği ve Cinsel Yönelim Çalışmaları Derneği
Social Policies, Gender Identity, and Sexual Orientation Studies Association (SPoD)
SPoD is founded in 2011 with the dream of a fair, equal, and free world under the rainbow and aims to contribute to the development of social policies needed to build a life where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and + (LGBTI+) communities do not feel oppressed due to their gender identity and sexual orientation.
In addition to the advocacy work it carries out for this purpose, SPoD aims to set an example for public institutions by developing service models for LGBTI+ communities, to eliminate all forms of discrimination in these institutions, and to provide LGBTI+ specific services in the long term through public and private sector collaborations.
SPoD provides legal, social and psychological counseling to LGBTI+ persons; follows up campaign lawsuits; provides trainings to mental health experts, lawyers, institutions and municipalities; conducts academic research; organizes seminars, panels, courses on politics and activism, and election campaigns; and organizes support groups and advocacy meetings.
SPoD carries out these activities with its professional staff, volunteers, and expert networks.
