Tactical Tech, an international CSO based in Berlin, working in tandem with individuals and civil-society organizations, explores the impact of technology on society and offers guidance in technology literacy. The Glass Room, an interactive exhibition addressing the question “What is privacy in an age where data belongs to everyone?” began in 2016 and, over the years, it has been developed through various collaborations in different countries. Today, Glass Room exists both physically and as a virtual experience online.
Within the scope of Haklara Destek II, to improve technology literacy and to support the current developments regarding the education of users about their rights in a surveillance world, we have contributed to the Turkish and Kurdish localization of this project. We have translated the Privacy, Security, Well-being, and Misinformation brochures of the Data Detox Kit, which are already available in Turkish, into Kurdish. We also translated the apps Double Check and Fake or Real to Turkish. Additionally, we did the Turkish versions of ten posters that were prepared for the Glass Room: Misinformation Edition. We aim at contributing to the ways in which organizations relate to technology and increasing our knowledge of our rights by sharing these contents with the beneficiary organizations throughout the implementation period.
